When Nate Whiting took over Tristan’s kitchen, Jesse Sutton felt it was only natural to join him. After establishing a cooking cadence at The Dining Room at Woodlands, where they worked side-by-side for three years, Sutton just couldn’t see himself working under any other chef. Like Whiting, he dedicated his early career to learning from the best. An Illinois native, Sutton worked under Chicago’s celebrated chefs Grant Achatz at Trio Restaurant and Dave Hayden at Peninsula Hotel’s Avenues. After receiving his culinary arts degree at Kendall College, he went on to the Commanders Palace, one of New Orleans’ highest-rated restaurants. He relocated to Charleston in 2007, and has been working with Whiting ever since.
